The new durable FinePix XP-Series now feature the powerful and performance-driven 14-MegaPixel CMOS sensor, faster start-up and shot-to-shot times, up to 10 frames per second (fps) continuous shooting, a 2.7” anti-reflective, high-contrast LCD that has been brightened for clear viewing even in direct sunlight, and the high-precision, FUJINON 5x wide angle optical zoom lenses (28-140mm) with a reinforced hardened glass lens barrier and water repellent coating.

“Active families have redefined the uses for a digital camera, and Fujifilm’s versatile and durable XP-Series lets consumers capture images in more places,” said David Troy, director of marketing, Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “The XP150, XP100 and XP50 thrive in elements that most cameras are afraid of, and allow users to capture photos and movies in new and unique ways, even underwater.”

Four-Way Protection
The FinePix XP150 and XP100 are Fujifilm’s most rugged and durable digital cameras that are perfect for mountain biking, hiking, skiing, surfing, and anything else that defines an extreme adventure. Both the XP150 and XP100 are Waterproof to 33ft (10M) and Shockproof to 6.5 ft (2M), Freezeproof to 14°F (-10°C) and Dustproof.

The XP50, also extremely tough and stylish, is perfect for active families on the go that want a camera they can take anywhere without worrying about its safety. Consumers can drop them, soak them, freeze them, and even cover them in dirt and mud, and the XP-Series will come out unscathed and taking great pictures. The XP50 is Waterproof to 16.5ft (5M) and Shockproof to 5 ft (1.5M), Freezeproof to 14°F (-10°C) and Dustproof.

Newly Redesigned Double Locking Door
The ergonomically-designed cameras are housed in a metal uni-body chassis for durability, and now feature a totally redesigned double locking door that seals and protects the battery and memory card slots, along with the USB and micro-HD ports. This new, heavy-duty door keeps the XP-Series cameras watertight and locks out dust and debris in any situation that you can throw at it.

HD Capability
The FinePix XP150, XP100 and XP50 all offer stunning movies in full 1080p HD – even underwater – with sound at 30fps with one-touch ease. Many consumers are happy to enjoy HD movies on their PC, but with the optional HD Player accessory kit, with wireless remote control (HDMI cable not included), families can gather around their home HDTV to enjoy amazingly detailed stills and high resolution movie playback.

Fujifilm FinePix XP50

Advanced Image Stabilization
The XP-Series all have a powerful sensor shift Dual Image Stabilization (CIS) system. CIS works as the photo is being taken as it combines a mechanically stabilized sensor with high ISO to combat camera/hand shake and subject movement for improved low light shooting. The result is an expanded range of shooting situations where the cameras can be used without the need of a tripod or other support. With CIS working in the background, you can capture sharp, colorful scenes and portraits underwater or at night.

Tracking Auto Focus (AF)
Created specifically to capture an action shot, the AF function tracks fast moving subjects so they don’t escape from the frame in a blur. Subjects will be tracked automatically for as long as it is kept in the frame and the shutter is half-pressed; when users fully press the shutter button your subject will be in the centre of the photo in perfect focus.

GPS and Geo-Tagging (XP150 only)
The FinePix XP150 features a high sensitivity GPS antenna that is now quicker and easier to pinpoint your location, no matter where you are in the world. The FinePix XP150 also includes an electronic compass, Photo Navigation and GPS Geo-Tagging

In addition to these innovations, the cameras are loaded with the following features:
• 360° Motion Panorama Mode: Automatically creates a stunning panoramic (horizontal or vertical) picture.
• Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO): This mode intelligently identifies the scene type and necessary shooting conditions to optimize picture perfect potential.
• Face Detection and Automatic Red-eye Removal: To provide perfectly exposed and focused portrait shots, the XP-Series cameras are fitted with Fujifilm’s latest Face Detection technology which is able to track up to 10 faces simultaneously. The system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.
• Li-ion Rechargeable Battery: The XP150 and XP100 both feature an extended-life rechargeable Li-ion battery with charger for up to 330 shots per charge. The XP50’s rechargeable Li-ion battery delivers up to 220 shots per charge. Either way, the XP-Series allows users to shoot all of their images without worrying if the camera is going to last for the duration of their trip.
• Movie Editing Mode and Blog mode: Get creative and add finishing touches to movies and images, among others, you can choose from black and white, Sepia, or you can even add a dynamic lighting effect, all this in-camera.

The FinePix XP150 and XP100 will be available March 2012 at $279.95 and $249.95, respectively. The XP150 will be available in black and orange, while the XP100 will come in black, blue, orange, silver and green.

The FinePix XP50 will be available in March 2012 for US $199.95 and will also come in black, blue, orange, silver and green.

An accessory kit for the new XP-Series containing an adjustable float strap, protective silicone skin and a neoprene sports case will be available in spring 2012.

Olympus TG-625

PRESS RELEASE

August 22, 2012

Fashionable design and colors let users easily capture a variety of situations from daily life to active scenes.

The OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-625 compact digital camera

Olympus Imaging (President: Haruo Ogawa) is proud to announce the introduction of the OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-625, a camera which features waterproof*1, shockproof*2, and freezeproof*3 functionality into a tough, but stylish body, along with iHS Technology, which allows users to perfectly and beautifully capture photographic moments. It is schedule to go on sale from August 2012.

Main Features

  • With waterproof*1, shockproof*2, and freezeproof*3 functionality, the TG-625 is a tough model, built to withstand the most punishing environments.
  • With a 12.0 megapixel*4, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, an image processing engine established with the OLYMPUS PEN, and iHS Technology, this camera achieves high-sensitivity, low noise, a fast AF, and a fast start-up time.
  • Equipped with Magic Filter*5, for arranging photos exactly as users imagine them, and Beauty Make-up*6, for 19 varieties of makeup effects
  • The new AF Focus Illuminator is a supplemental light included for those times when auto focus has difficulty focusing in dark places, or in scenes with particularly low contrast.

The Tough series is a camera equipped with the three Tough qualities, waterproof/dust proof*1, shockproof*2, and freezeproof*3, for worry-free shooting underwater, mountain climbing, and other harsh environments that other cameras could not endure. With the ability to easily shoot in tough or formal situations, the photo possibilities keep growing.

The OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-625 boasts waterproof functionality*1 down to 5 meters, shockproof*2 to 1.5 meters, and freezeproof*3 to -10°C.In addition to being perfect for the ocean and mountains, the TG-625 is lightweight and compact, making it perfect for taking anywhere. Because it can easily be taken out of and slipped into a bag, it is the perfect camera for daily situations: shooting photos of food or sweets, pets, parties, and a girls’ night out. With such a wide field of photo opportunities, users will love shooting and carrying it with them.

With the combination of the back-illuminated CMOS sensor and TruePicVI SLR image processing engine, the iHS Technology made it improve the image quality, the speed from camera start-up until shooting, focus time, and continuous shooting time. In dark or low-contrast scenes, it can be difficult for the auto focus to operate properly. With AF Focus Illuminator, however, the subject can be illuminated, assisting in focusing. The popular Magic Filter*5 is available, with a total of 12 different effects, 10 of which can be used when shooting movies. Users can simply select a filter to give a slightly different flair to their still images and movies. Beauty Make-up*6 is also available, offering 19 different effects such as eye shadow, blush and other types of makeup to smooth skin and make it look more beautiful when shooting, or during playback. This camera is packed with useful features that not only cover tough shooting conditions, but usual situations, such as automatically detecting a pet’s face (dogs and cats), and automatically capturing the shot at the best possible timing.

With the 28mm wide-angle*7 to 5x optical zoom, a wide variety of shooting possibilities are available, from expansive landscapes and group shots, to narrow-angle underwater shooting.

Main Features — Details

iHS Technology
iHS Technology stands for “intelligence”, “high-speed”, and “high-sensitivity”.

With a 12.0 megapixel*4, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, and the TruePicVI image processing engine established with the OLYMPUS PEN, this camera achieves high-sensitivity, low noise, image, and fast start-up. Even in backlit or nighttime scenes, the camera can beautifully capture images, just as they are seen by the human eye. With HDR backlit correction, with a single shot, the camera captures three images at different exposures and automatically merges them into a single image. With Super Resolution technology, double the digital zoom is available, with virtually no image degradation. As an added facet of Intelligence technology, iAUTO can automatically detect up to 29 different scenes.

AF Illuminator
The new AF Focus Illuminator is a supplemental light included for those times when auto focus has difficulty focusing in dark places, or in scenes with particularly low contrast. When the shutter button is pressed halfway, the LED will automatically activate, illuminating the subject and improving auto focusing precision. This function is especially useful for shooting in darker indoor scenes.

DUAL IS*8 Image Stabilization
DUAL IS*10 is image stabilization that counteracts the direction of camera shake by moving the CMOS sensor via a shift-type image stabilization mechanism, and uses digital SLR algorithms. By using this function in combination with high-sensitivity shooting, camera shake and subject blur is effectively reduced, providing double image stabilization.

Full High-Definition Movies (MOV/H.264)*9
Full High-definition size 1920 x 1080 movies, and an extremely good compression format for computers. With MOV and H.264 formats, longer movies can be shot more smoothly and beautifully. With the dedicated movie button, movie shooting can be started and stopped with a single touch.

The STYLUS TG-625 is also equipped with Multi-Motion Movie IS image stabilization. Because this function corrects for the gradual camera shake that commonly occurs when shooting a movie while walking, users can more fully enjoy shooting beautiful, high-quality movies.

Magic Filter*5
The popular Magic Filter offers 12 different filters to choose from: Dramatic, Fragmented, Pop, Pinhole, Fisheye, Sketch, Wedding, Rock, Watercolor, Crystal, Miniature, and Mirror. Pop, Pinhole, Sketch, Fisheye, Wedding, Rock, Watercolor, Miniature, Mirror, and Dramatic can also be used when shooting movies.

Beauty Make-up*6
Beauty Make-up*6 allows users to apply the desired makeup effect to three people at the same during shooting or playback, and to register 3 favorite patterns of makeup for ease of use.

This function offers a full range of 19 different makeup effects that will make women happy. Because effects are divided into four different themes such as Makeup, Eye Effects, Performance, and Spa, they are easy to choose from.

The Makeup menu screen is packed with cosmetic choices such as Cheeks, Eye Shadow, and False Eyelashes, so that users can easily choose and apply effects. In the Eye Effect menu, users can not only change eye color, but make eyes appear bigger. In the Spa menu, users can make subjects faces appear smaller, and add effects such as to make faces look even more beautiful, such as Lift-up.

Pet Mode (Scene Mode)*10
Dogs and cats are automatically detected. By selecting Pet-cat or Pet-dog modes, the camera will automatically detect cats or dogs and focus on their faces. Up to ten dog or cat faces can be detected.

Auto Shutter
Capture pets’ cute expressions. With Auto Shutter, the camera will automatically shoot when a pet faces the camera head-on. With this function, users won’t miss the whimsical antics of their pets. (Auto Shutter can detect only one pet.)

Eye-Fi Support*11
Eye-Fi cards are SDHC memory cards that contain an internal wireless LAN. Images can be wirelessly uploaded to picture services such as [ib on the net], online photo albums, and computers.

SNS Upload Function
This function satisfies the demand of users who want to upload still images to social networking sites, such as Facebook and Flickr.

By adding images user want to share to an upload list on the camera, they can easily be uploaded to the desired social networking service.

To upload images, users simply add recorded images to a list on the camera, and then upload them to a computer. Images added to a list can be searched with a single touch and then easily uploaded. (It is necessary to preinstall the included software OLYMPUS Viewer2 on a computer.)

PRESS RELEASE

DEMAND MORE THAN DURABILITY. THE OLYMPUS STYLUS TOUGH® TG-2 NOW GOES DEEPER AND CAPTURES LIFE CLOSER THAN ANY STYLUS EVER

Dive Underwater to 50 Feet and Capture Microscopic Macros to Reveal a Hidden World

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., January 7, 2013 – Olympus takes rugged durability and DSLR-image quality to new heights (and depths) with the new flagship Tough model: the STYLUS TOUGH TG-2 iHS. It expands on technologies that made its predecessor, the Olympus TOUGH TG-1 iHS, a standout among the Tough series of waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, crushproof and dustproof compact cameras: a high-speed, ultra-bright f2.0 lens with converter-lens system compatibility, iHS technology to shoot brilliant images and incredible 1080p Full HD Video in the most extreme conditions.

Olympus continues to push innovation further so underwater enthusiasts can now explore depths up to 50 feet* with the TG-2 iHS – 10 feet deeper than its predecessor! Of course, it also withstands the rigors of other extreme conditions with its advanced ruggedized body construction that is shockproof up to 6.6 feet*, freezeproof to 14°F*, crushproof to a weight of 220 pounds and dustproof.

This high-speed performer delivers brilliant images courtesy of its high-sensitivity, high-speed 12-megapixel backlit CMOS sensor combined with a blazing fast, DSLR-quality TruePic™ VI image processor. The iHS family of technologies unite for unmatched image quality in challenging shooting conditions with improved lighting, less noise and response times twice as fast as traditional point-and-shoot cameras.

The new Microscopic Macro function boosts zoom magnification from 4x to 14x** with no noticeable loss of image quality from one centimeter away for true macro results. When the doubly powerful Super Resolution zoom is used, aspects of the natural world usually invisible to the naked eye, such as veins on a leaf and the details of an insect’s eye, are revealed. High-speed autofocus, enhanced Intelligent Auto for spectacular scene and subject recognition, and 8x Super-resolution zoom (4x optical zoom) produce incredible images in any location. The STYLUS TOUGH TG-2 iHS lens adapter converter ring expands system capability by enabling the addition of a waterproof Fisheye Converter Lens or Teleconverter Lens for use on land or under water.

With five frames-per-second high-speed burst shooting or 60 frames-per-second at 3-megapixel resolution, Movie enthusiasts can shoot 1080p Full HD videos (1920×1080 pixels) while Multi-Motion Movie Image Stabilization compensates for movement during recording to create smoother videos.

A 1:2.0-4.9 wide-aperture high-speed lens enables the user to capture dramatic shots with low depth of field or reduced blur in low light. The Manual aperture priority mode allows the user to set the aperture to give pictures different expressions, or for professional-looking effects like background blur.

In low-light conditions, HDR Backlight Adjustment takes a collage of images at various exposure levels and blends them into one perfectly exposed photo. The camera’s LED Illuminator perfectly captures the mood of low-light indoor scenes, beautiful sunsets or late-night outdoor festivities without a bright flash. Shadow Adjustment Technology adjusts shadows within an image shot under backlit conditions so that a subject’s face can be revealed even under harsh lighting. Eleven Magic Filters add a range of spectacular effects to both stills and video.

The camera’s three-inch, high-resolution OLED display (610K dots) provides excellent visibility in bright situations, enabling composition of the perfect shot in direct sunlight. Mark a special spot on the map with the GPS and e-compass functions that display and record location and landmark information with every shot. The built-in manometer records elevation and water depth and even displays a warning when the user approaches a depth of 50 feet.

Users can easily share their images on a big-screen HDTV in high definition using an optional HDMI cable or on their social networks using the Olympus Image Share smartphone application (via optional Toshiba FlashAir™ SDHC card or optional Eye-Fi Card).

Two bundled lens rings, one in red and one in black, and a premium wrist strap customize the camera’s look. The Olympus® PT-053 underwater housing takes the STYLUS TOUGH TG-2 iHS down to depths of 135 feet (45m).

*Waterproof according to IEC standard publication 529 IPX8. Shockproof figures equivalent to MIL Standard according to Olympus test conditions. Freezeproof according to Olympus test conditions.
**35 mm camera equivalent.

As intelligent as it is durable, it captures worry-free images in the most challenging environments with a 16-megapixel Back-Side Illuminated CMOS sensor and TruPic VI™ image processor.

Action photography is all about speed. Olympus iHS technology delivers with new high-speed shooting technology on the TG-830 iHS that captures High Speed video at 120 frames per second in 720p and 240 frames per second in HVGA along with High-Speed Sequential shooting of still images at the push of a button. The TG-830 iHS, along with the STYLUS SH-50® iHS, another Olympus compact announced today, includes 60-frames-per-second HD recording, 60i Movie, for smoother images of moving subjects.

Adventurers may not have to leave one peak to capture the action on another thanks to a 5x optical zoom and 10x super-resolution zoom. Never decide between a still image and a movie with Multi- Recording that captures full HD video and images simultaneously. Camera shake caused by trembling hands is counteracted by dual image stabilization that moves the CMOS sensor via a shift-type image stabilization mechanism to reduce image blur. Built-in GPS records and displays locations and landmark information with every image so remembering that special location for birding, hunting, fishing or going downhill is simple.

Also announced today, the Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-630 iHS combines much of the technology of the TG-830 iHS in a new design at a budget-friendly price of under $200. Enhanced iAuto in both models automatically detects 34 different scenes like portrait, landscape, macro, and even Snow & Beach. Eleven Magic Art filters capture scenes with creative flair, and beauty make-up mode adds that extra hint of blush when needed.

A NEW ANGLE ON TOUGH: OLYMPUS® STYLUS TOUGH TG-850 ADDS SUPER WIDE-ANGLE LENS AND FLIP LCD

Tough Capabilities, Advanced Performance and New Features Including a 21mm Super Wide-Angle Lens and Flip LCD Capture the Great Outdoors from a Whole New Perspective

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., January 29, 2014 — The Olympus Spring camera line-up includes the next-generation Olympus TOUGH®, the STYLUS® TG-850, an advanced rugged compact designed to expand outdoor shooting capabilities in the most challenging environments. The STYLUS TG-850’s super wide-angle 21-105mm 5x optical zoom lens — the widest lens of any rugged camera* — plus a 180° flip LCD monitor and shockproof*, waterproof, dustproof, crushproof and freezeproof construction, makes it the perfect companion for explorers looking to capture every angle of their adventures and users looking for a durable solution to everyday photography.

The TG-850’s super wide-angle zoom lens with redesigned lens configuration makes it thinner and more compact, yet able to maintain brilliant optical performance even at its widest angle. The high-performance optics are enhanced by the combination of a 16-megapixel back-lit CMOS sensor and next-generation True-Pic VII processor to capture superb, noise-free images and Full HD 60p video no matter what the lighting or shooting conditions.

Its newly designed, sleek and stylish tough body features the large 3-inch, high-resolution 460,000-dot flip LCD, yet retains its rugged durability: waterproof down to 33 feet (10m), shockproof from seven feet (2.1m)*, crushproof up to 220 pounds (100kgf), freezeproof down to 14° F (-10°C)  and dustproof. The combination of the 180° flip LCD and the wide-angle lens make it particularly well suited to half underwater photography, self-portraits, and monitoring. When capturing semi-submerged shots, for instance, users can simply tilt the LCD 90° to eliminate the need to dip underwater. And for self-portraits, tilt the screen up to the full 180° and get the entire group and/or landscape into the shot. Paired with the adjustable self timer and 99-frame intervelometer, the TG-850 is a perfect companion for action shots – and video recording – when mounted on your bike, surf board or helmet.

The STYLUS TG-850 captures video with natural motion in new smooth 60p recording at 60 frames per second in full HD (1080) and high-speed recording (HS120fps with resolution of 640×480, or HS240fps with 320×240). The Multi-Motion Movie image stabilization compensates for blurring that occurs when shooting video while walking or panning across a scene.

The combination of the FAST AF, 7.1 fps sequential shooting, an enlarged grip for easy handling and a lens-shift image stabilization mechanism — the same technology found on interchangeable lens cameras — helps users to capture all the fleeting outdoor action in crisp detail. The STYLUS TG-850 expands the user’s creative potential with eleven Art Filters, several advanced shooting modes and interval shooting of up to 99 frames at preset intervals from 10 seconds to 60 minutes.

Users can easily share their images on their social networks using the Olympus Image Share smartphone app via the optional Toshiba FlashAir SDHC card.

SHOOT AND SHARE FROM ANYWHERE: OLYMPUS STYLUS TOUGH®  TG-3 IS READY FOR ALL YOUR ADVENTURES

Advanced Rugged Performance, High-Speed Lens, Built-in Wi-Fi® and New Macro Functions Deliver Close-Up Shooting Capabilities in Extreme Conditions

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., March 31, 2014 — Olympus expands outdoor shooting and sharing capabilities in even the most challenging of conditions with the new STYLUS TOUGH TG-3. The Flagship STYLUS TOUGH TG-3 boasts a new level of performance for the Tough series of rugged cameras, with a high-speed f2.0 lens (25mm–100mm*), expanded macro photography capabilities, GPS, and built-in Wi-Fi for shooting and sharing brilliant images and 1080p Full HD Video from anywhere.

The Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3 withstands extreme conditions; the camera is freezeproof to -10℃ (14°F), waterproof to 50 feet (15 m), shockproof from seven feet (2.1 m), crushproof to 220 pounds (100 kgf) and dustproof. A high-speed f2.0–4.9, 4.5–8.0mm (25mm–100mm*) wide-aperture lens combined with its TruePic VII image processor, the same found in Olympus’ award-winning OM-D® series of interchangeable lens cameras, and a 16.0 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor captures images with minimal noise, even in low-light situations.

The Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3 includes built-in Wi-Fi, and the setup is simple. By quickly scanning the QR code displayed on the camera’s LCD with a smart device, it syncs with the Wi-Fi network created by the camera. The free Olympus Image Share app synchronizes a user’s iOS® or Androidtm mobile device and the STYLUS TOUGH TG-3 so that the camera’s Live View is displayed on the phone. Therefore, the camera can be fully controlled remotely by touching the Smartphone’s display, as if it were the camera itself, and users can send selected images directly to websites and social media.

Users can use the on-board GPS to document a memorable location on the map and display and record landmark information with every shot. The built-in manometer records elevation and water depth and displays a warning when the user approaches a depth of 50 feet. The e-compass offers information on direction, latitude and longitude.

The Variable Macro System includes the Microscope mode to capture photos up to 10mm away from subjects, and at a focal length of 100mm, the lens magnifies subjects up to 6.9x and up to 13.8x with Super Resolution Zoom. With that power, a subject only 1mm in size is magnified up to a maximum of approximately 44.4mm when displayed on the rear LCD screen. The Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3 reveals a new world of detail not visible to the naked eye, like the veins on a leaf or a snowflake.

The new Focus Stacking function captures eight different shots continuously, while shifting the focus from the foreground to the background. It extracts and merges only those areas of each image that are in focus and produces a single photo with a focus that spans several centimeters. Focus bracketing is also available for post-processing. Underwater Macro, a new Scene Mode option, uses the Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3’s powerful macro photography capabilities to optimize the white balance, color saturation and contrast in underwater scenes.

The Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3’s sleek and stylish body features an ergonomic grip, large buttons and a 3-inch, high-resolution 460,000-dot rear LCD monitor. Its time-lapse movie function enables expanded creative capability for capturing everything from star trails to the sunrise and sunset. Use the interval shooting function for automatic sequential shooting from 1 second up to 24 hours with a maximum of 99 shots, extremely useful when the camera is mounted on a helmet, bike, kayak or surfboard.  Multiple Art Filters and the Photo Story feature add creativity to any shot.

The LG-1 LED Light Guide (sold separately) can be attached to the lens of the Olympus STYLUS TOUGH TG-3, similar to a ring flash with an emitter around the lens. Using the built-in LED light, it evenly illuminates the subject when shooting close-up, drawing out the best of the STYLUS TOUGH TG-3’s macro photography abilities. A rich lineup of optional system accessories, including waterproof fisheye and tele converter lenses, an underwater protector, float straps and multipurpose camera cases are sold separately.
